  • Busha

Busha is a tall, unkempt man who walks the streets in Mohammedia; he has mud stains on his shoes and himself is smelly, dirty, and disheveled, and above all, he is huge and very hungry. He looks to his right and he looks to his left, and when he sees nobody, he rummages inside a huge street garbage bin, tossing whatever he is found in except when he finds food. He jumps, shouts, and gives a sudden jerk of his head, and then he eats some of it. When someone approaches him, he stops, stands, and stares at him. Sometimes he sits or lies down on the earthy ground, averting his eyes to the sky. If anybody talks to him, he throws food at them and starts dancing and singing, “I am a hungry man... I eat spoiled food...I eat today...morrow no food.”

Then unexpectedly he throws a rotten apple high in the air, and before it bounces back to him, he carries his heavy, dirty brown leather bag on his back and then quickly catches the falling rotten apple with his huge dirty left hand and starts walking again and chanting his song, looking for litter bin food somewhere else down the street.

  • A horrible park

The November 18 Park is a dead place. It has no greenish plants or grass. The trail is full of dirt, plastic bottles, and some other litter. The fountain has no water and looks like a construction site. Not only that, but also many benches have no seat or backrest. The whole place makes any visitor want to scratch his head in a puzzled way because the park is in the center of the city of Mohammedia and near the bus terminals and the train platform. If I am a visitor, I won’t go there to relax and enjoy myself because that is not a park by the minimum international standards.
