Who is Hakim?
Posted 1h 43min agoMy name is Hakim, and I am a poor peasant now. People like me so much because I am a very friendly and a very kind man. I lost everything, and now I live in a dream.
I always picture myself living in an ideal world with the young woman from the dream. Botayna. I see her past the open windows of my ideal house. She is alone, looking at me with an infinitely sad expression in her eyes.
"What are you looking at?" She asked
Instead of waking up from my dream, I tried to come up with an answer that would keep me dreaming for a little longer.
"I am looking at the stars," I said
"Don't say you are looking at the stars. That is a lie. You are looking down."
"That's because we are in an airplane. The stars are below us."
"Oh, in an airplane," said Botayna
I was horrified seeing her vanish before my eyes, and then I said to myself, God, how could I not remember where I had met her? How could I forget when she knew me so well? How could I not remember who she was?
By that time I was completely awake, my eyes were open, and I was asking myself, where am I? Yes, I am in Mohammedia, but that woman, does she live here too? Could she be from Fez? It took me quite some time to get it into my head that I didn't know the woman, that she was not from Mohammedia or Fez, that she inhabited my dream and nowhere else.
Who is Kalyd?
Posted on March 23, 2025 at 15:13:22My name is Kalyd, and I am the happiest man in the world. I am 33 years old, and God blessed me with two gorgeous children and a loving wife. My oldest child is Yusra. She is tall, slim, and pretty. She speaks English and Spanish fluently, and she is only eight. Her brother Zakarya is only two years younger than her. He is a little bit fat but energetic. He is curious about anything that he comes across. He likes to be on the balcony of our apartment at Septa Street each Sunday, looking at pedestrians, and pretends he is a politician talking to the vast crowd. He writes and reads a lot, and, sometimes, he paints and listens to music. As per my dear wife, Malika, she is extremely intelligent despite never having attended school in her entire life. This is all I can tell about her.
If you were blessed with a family like mine, how grateful would you be?
Who is Halima?
Posted on March 19, 2025 at 13:42:11My name is Halima, and at this moment I am twenty-one years old. I have a brand new smartphone, I scoured the Internet for news, and I am handicapped. I like reading New York Times and The Atlantic Magazine articles every day. I find their stories quite interesting.
When I was eleven years old, I saw a huge truck barreling toward me; the truck driver had no escape route. I knew if I didn't move, it would be the last thing I would ever do in my life. In that split second, something inside me changed, and I darted out of the way. Nevertheless, I had several broken bones at the bottom of each leg.
I still remember when I shared the hospital room for the few days we were there; the nurses were popping their heads into the room and scouting around. When we got back home, it felt as if a prison sentence had been lifted for a brief moment and a severe one began—I became dependent on others forever. Nonetheless, after many tears, I was close to inconsolable; I accepted who I became.
Now you know a little something about me, and I hope my story will warn you about the danger of the road.
