  • The Paycheck

Speaker A: Hi, Noufil. How are you?
Speaker B: Fine, thanks, Kalid. What brings you to Mohammedia?
Speaker A: Well, I have a job interview; hopefully it will work for me.
Speaker B: Really! I thought you already had a job, and you were happy about it.
Speaker A: Yes, I do. But it is getting harder to get paid. Last month, the company kept my paycheck for ten days. Can you imagine this?
Speaker B: Don′t tell me you were late in paying the rent again.
Speaker A: I do. But thanks to God, my landlord is understanding my situation for now. I am afraid he will lose his patience and kick me out.
Speaker B: I am sorry to hear that. I think the government should do something about it because we have bills to pay on time.
Speaker A: If I say anything, I will lose my job. I just keep my mouth shut, and I hope for the best.
Speaker B: Well, hopefully they will hire you for the new job, and they will pay you on time. Good luck.
    Speaker A: Thanks.
